History
In 1973 Mr. Niels Henrik Grundtvig established the company
Grundtvig Emballage Maskiner A/S as a commission business for
packaging machines to the Danish industry.
In the 1980s, on request of a larger Danish company, we took on
manual and automated packaging. Thus, from dealing in the selling
of machines, our business focused it's expansion to include
automatic and manual packaging, as well as design and development
of creative solutions within the packaging industry.
In the late 1980s Grundtvig Emballage A/S were the first in
Europe to introduce clear see-through OPP film-wrapping of
magazines in clear 6 colour flexo-print.
Through the 90s the company continued it's growth and
development, and extended it's business to other types of
packaging; assembling and screening of products to Danish industry;
as well as creative packaging solutions to marketing and
advertising companies.
In 1999 Grundtvig Emballage A/S bought an 8.500 m² factory on
northern Falster, which is only 125 km from Copenhagen. Today all
activities related to production are carried out here. However,
sales, marketing and administration are still taken care of at our
main office in Charlottenlund, north of Copenhagen.
Because of the company's continuous expansion and many areas of
expertise, and as a stage in the company's long-term strategy to
supply the industry with contract packaging, wrapping and
assembling solutions, the management decided in 2003 to change the
company's name to Grundtvig.as.
